DP University and DP Electrics Commitment to Training and Development

The year of 2024 has been a year full of milestones, with one of the greatest being the success of DP University and our Training and Development program.

The nationally accredited apprenticeship program at DP University is designed to give students an unmatched education experience by blending the curriculum designed by the NCCER along with the core values of DP Electric Inc. This four-year program encompasses classroom instruction and hands-on labs, coupled with on-the-job learning to create highly educated, well-rounded Electricians.

This year marked the graduation of the first group of apprentices to complete all four years of their apprenticeship entirely through DP University. These graduates are a testament to the program’s commitment to developing skilled professionals. Currently with 154 students actively enrolled in DP University, we are excited to see the growth of many more employees through the education provided by the nationally accredited apprenticeship program.

In addition to this success, DP Electrics Training and Development team expanded its commitment to education with several milestones in 2024, including:

  • Grand Canyon University Partnership: Recently securing a partnership with Grand Canyon University’s (GCU) pre-apprenticeship program for electricians. This program equipts students with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the electrical trade. Students gain a comprehensive overview of the electrical field, including foundational electrical concepts, business operations, and project management.  
  • Launch of AP-101: Launched at the beginning of 2024, this course was designed to enhance the skills of all DPE’s apprentice level ones. AP 101 is a week-long course structured in the both the classroom and in DP University’s training lab setting a strong foundation for apprentices just beginning their career as an electrician.
  • 2025 Training Plan: Looking ahead, DP Electric has developed an in-depth training schedule for 2025, which includes a total of 18 new classes. These classes will focus on deepening employee’s technical expertise, leadership skills, and personal development.

While the quality of instruction and our state-of-the-art training facility are important, it’s the people who truly make the difference.
