This summer, DP Electric proudly welcomed a talented group of seven interns across our Arizona and Texas offices as part of the 2025 Summer Internship Program. Each Project Engineer Intern brought curiosity, energy, and a passion for learning. Throughout the summer, they gained hands-on experience that offered a true look into the world of commercial electrical construction at DP Electric.
Our internship program is designed to provide meaningful, immersive learning opportunities, not just observation. Interns spent their time both in the office and out in the field, supporting active job sites and learning directly from experienced project managers and experienced field leaders.
From reviewing plans and submittals to walking job sites, tracking progress, participating in coordination meetings, and observing installations firsthand, interns were exposed to the full lifecycle of a commercial electrical project.
One of the most valuable components of the program is the balance between office and field work. Interns had the opportunity to see electrical construction in action through regular visits to active project sites.
- In the Office:
Interns assisted with project documentation, scheduling, procurement support, and estimating activities. These tasks provided an understanding of how project teams coordinate and keep complex jobs moving forward. - In the Field:
Onsite, interns gained exposure to installations, safety procedures, field coordination, and the craftsmanship that powers our projects. Seeing construction unfold in real time helped them connect engineering concepts to real-world outcomes.
At DP Electric, we believe strongly in developing the next generation of construction professionals. Our internship program gives students the opportunity to explore a career path in electrical construction while contributing meaningful work to our teams.
