DP Electric employees feel that giving back to the community is one of the most rewarding experiences someone can have. Helping others is an integral part of our company’s culture and over the last twenty-three years, we have supported numerous non-profit organizations.
D.P. Electric’s community involvement stems from our team members and their passion for organizations and activities they have a personal interest in. From building a home, mentoring a student, providing holiday gifts for those in need, adopting a street or simply offering a helping hand or expertise, our team members approach each effort with an understanding that they are simply doing the right thing and making a real difference.

Giving BackD.P. Electric's involvement with the community
By adopting a roadway in our neighborhood, through Tempe’s Adopt-A-Street program, D.P. Electric gives back to the community of Tempe by improving the appearance, cleanliness and safety of our neighborhood. We currently maintain a portion of Price Road in Tempe and employees volunteer for clean up every three months. Not only do we feel we are making a difference in the environment, but we feel this project offers us camaraderie with our co-workers and the opportunity to get outside and enjoy the weather.
D.P. Electric sets up a booth and provides hands on training to high school students interested in electrical construction at the Arizona Construction Career Days Event held annually at the National Guard Armory. AZCCD is the largest Arizona construction event reaching out to High School students in the state to give them hands-on construction experience. The Arizona Construction Career Days is overseen by the Association for Construction Career Development and brings together more than 340 exhibitors and over 400 pieces of equipment to provide students the opportunity to learn more about a career in construction.
D.P. Electric was a sponsor for the 2014 McDowell Mountain Music Festival (MMMF) held March 28-March 30th at Hance Park in downtown Phoenix, Arizona. D.P. Electric makes a charitable contribution to MMMF as well as donating time and resources for the annual event, which is the only 100% non-profit music festival in Arizona.
The event is designed to promote community involvement, corporate participation and charity. All of the proceeds from the festival benefit two local, family-based, non-profit organizations, the Phoenix Children’s Hospital Foundation and UMOM New Day Center.
D.P. Electric employees Ernie Bonham, Dale Durfee and Kevin Layton worked the three-day event, servicing and providing support for generators and electrical equipment for the stages and marketplace / food vendors.
D.P. Electric partners with the AZ Builders Alliance to support the SKILLS USA Youth Construction Program. The program provides structured leadership, citizenship, employability, technical and professional skills training through internships, competitions and mentoring in skills training. D.P. Electric volunteers time for SKILLS USA program development, events and judging competitions. We believe the program instills core values and job skills at an early age and have experienced firsthand the success of the program, with employees who were hired for their first job through SKILLS USA and are now working for DP Electric.
D.P. Electric employees adopted a local household with eight family members and provided Christmas gifts and fixings for a Holiday dinner. It was warming to see the smiles of joy and excitement on the children’s faces when we delivered the gifts. The heartfelt hugs and expressions of appreciation we receive make this annual event a rewarding way to express our Christmas spirit.
DP Electric provided manpower assistance for electrical repairs to the Boy Scouts’ Camp Sunrise in participation with WESPAC Construction. The weekend event was supported by eighteen employees performing electrical repairs and installing a wheel chair lift and a $30K generator donated by D.P. Electric.
